Ta-Da!!

Hey everyone, I promised Shelley a looooong time ago I'd start a blog and, in true Laurie fashion, just barely got it ready.

So last night Alex and I made salmon for dinner (as I posted so excitedly on the family FB page). Lightly seasoned with pepper, lemon juice and some other spices I probably missed him putting on while I was trying to figure out the white balance in the kitchen (Rachel and Dad, I've decided white balance is my current enemy).

And the finished product - complete with brand new, polished wooden chopsticks (Alex eats everything with chopsticks!).

And as an added bonus, you all get to see this goofy picture of Alex that I snapped right as he started to yawn and stretch. It may not be up permanently (we'll see once he realizes I posted it) so get your fill now :)

Love you all!

  1. How come initial my comment disappeared? Your blog doesn't seem to like me. That is really sad when a blog doesn't want to be nice to me.

You can add my family blog to your blog sidebar so you can always see what we're up {that is, if I decide to ever start blogging again!} the address is www.myengfamily.blogspot.com

  2. BTW, my initial comment said something that I can't remember...something like "That looks yummy!" But longer :)

  3. Devin is trying to convince me that fish is good for us.... except that neither of us like it. Its been about as frequent in our diet at whole wheat pasta, which Devin also insists is good for us. I just threw away all the whole wheat pasta in the house, I like WHITE pasta. I am learning to like salmon....maybe you should post the recipe and I'll try it and Devin will be excited that I finally cooked fish and he will still only eat a square inch of it. I'm excited to read your posts!

  4. I love salmon! Please post the recipe. Do we get this for our next Sunday dinner when we get back? (Dad has made an amazing ahi tuna. Does that make Dad and Alex two fish in a pond? What is the right analogy?)

  5. I've never had ahi tuna....but Alex loves fish and also grilling. He talks about grilling all the time. So I'm sure that's something he and dad will enjoy doing together! I'll have Alex write down the recipe and method (as he puts it, it's not so much what you're cooking as how you cook it) and I'll post it.
